FAMILY OPEN HOUSE
a FREE show for homeless families
The Universoul Circus extends our home with a free show to homeless families with children in metropolitan areas across the United States. Child homelessness has silently risen to epidemic proportions in America. Cedric Walker, the founder of UniverSoul Circus, was overwhelmed when he discovered the number of homeless families with children all over the country. As a result, he decided to provide a fun-filled escape to the circus and help them put their struggles aside for a few hours while enjoying the show.
“We love performing for families across the country, but our Family Open House is our way of reaching out to the local community and helping those in need as best we can, and we’re thrilled that business, media and community leaders are as supportive of this event as we are,” said Cedric Walker, the founder of UniverSoul Circus. “There are many great organizations that, thankfully, are willing to help provide necessities to these transitional families, but we can offer them something very unique with a night out together at the circus and we hope to make this an annual event.”

FOOD FOR THE SOUL
FIGHTING HUNGER...one can at a time
The UniverSoul Circus Food for the Soul program helps stock local food banks that support homeless and low income families. It is a partnership between local school districts, the UniverSoul Circus and other community institutions including local media outlets. The Food for the Soul program encourages students to collect and donate non-perishable food items to help feed thousands of people in need throughout the year via local food banks. The school that collects the greatest amount of items will win tickets to the UniverSoul Circus for the entire school.
The Food for the Soul program started in Atlanta in 2005 and has been a major food supplier for the Hosea Helps Food Bank since that time. We are very proud of this program because it not only provides food for the needy, it also helps to build character in the participating students. It provides our children a great civics lesson about sharing, teamwork, giving and meaningful competition. The school that wins the contest will attend the UniverSoul Circus and participate in a rare cultural, educational and entertaining experience that will allow them to see incredible artists from countries from around the world.
